TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama walked off in the 13th inning 2-1 in the first game of the series against Lipscomb. The 25th ranked team is now a perfect 14-0 which is the second-best record in program history.
The Crimson Tide was first on the scoreboard with one run in the third before the Bison matched the score in the seventh.
After going scoreless until the bottom of the 13th with no outs and bases loaded, a wild pitch let Jackson Tate score from third and walk it off for Alabama.
A total of 24 strikeouts were recorded for Alabama - a new program record - using four arms to get the job done.
The Crimson Tide allowed a total of three hits which is the fewest any opponent has scored against Alabama this season.
Freshman Connor Prielipp had another successful start allowing two hits and stuck out 11 in six innings before he left the mound.
Sophomore Chase Lee worked his career-long 5.1 innings before Brock Guffey came to the mound to finish the job with strikeouts on all five outs.
From Head Coach Brad Bohannon
"The pitching on both ends was just outstanding. Obviously, Connor Prielipp matched Scott Elgin and the rest of the team did what they needed to."
Alabama looks to keep the win streak alive against Lipscomb on March 7th for the second game of the series.
